Monthly GDP June 2026

  • Real GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.4% in the three months to June 2026, compared with the three months to March 2026. This follows growth of 0.6% in the three months to May 2026 and 0.8% growth in the three months to April 2026.
  • On the month, GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.3% in June 2026, following no growth in May 2026 and a fall of 0.1% in April 2026.
  • Compared with June 2025, GDP is estimated to be 1.1% higher.
  • Over the longer term, GDP is estimated to have grown by 1.1% in the three months to June 2026 compared with the same three months a year ago. Over this period, services grew by 1.5%, production grew by 0.3%, and construction fell by 2.0%.

Services

  • Services output is estimated to have grown by 0.5% in the three months to June 2026, following growth of 0.6% in the three months to May 2026. Growth over the period was driven by increases in information and communication (2.7%), professional, scientific and technical activities (1.7%), and transportation and storage (1.2%). These increases were partially offset by falls in administrative and support service activities (-0.9%) and education (-0.4%).
  • On the month, services output is estimated to have grown by 0.4% in June 2026, with 8 of the 14 subsectors showing growth.

Production

  • Production output is estimated to have shown no growth in the three months to June 2026, following growth of 0.2% in the three months to May 2026. Manufacturing grew by 1.0% and mining and quarrying by 0.2%, offset by falls in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-2.3%) and water supply, sewerage and waste management (-3.7%).
  • On the month, production output is estimated to have fallen by 0.2% in June 2026, driven by falls in manufacturing (-0.5%), water supply, sewerage and waste management (-1.5%), and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-0.3%).

Construction

  • Construction output is estimated to have grown by 0.3% in the three months to June 2026, compared with the three months to March 2026. Growth was driven by both new work (0.4%) and repair and maintenance (0.2%), with infrastructure new work increasing 1.9% and public housing repair and maintenance rising 2.5%.
  • On the month, construction output is estimated to have fallen by 0.1% in June 2026, driven by a 0.3% decline in new work, with public housing new work falling 11.0%.

Real GDP grew by 0.4% in the three months to June 2026, following a growth of 0.6% in the three months to May 2026 and a growth of 0.8% in the three months to April 2026
