Monthly GDP June 2025

  • Monthly real GDP grew by 0.4% in June 2025, rebounding after declines of 0.1% in both April and May.
  • Real GDP grew by 0.3% in the three months to June 2025, driven by gains in services, despite earlier monthly declines.
  • Services output rose by 0.3% in June, following a 0.1% rise in May. Growth was led by professional, scientific and technical activities (+1.7%), particularly scientific R&D (+8.3%) and architectural & engineering services (+6.7%). Wholesale and retail trade (+0.8%) and retail trade excluding motor vehicles (+0.9%) also contributed.
  • Consumer-facing services rose by 0.9% in June, boosted by higher retail sales and strong new car registrations, the highest June level since 2019.
  • The production sector expanded by 0.7% in June, rebounding from a 1.3% fall in May. Manufacturing rose by 0.5%, driven by computer, electronic & optical products (+8.8%), while pharmaceuticals (–1.1%) remained weak. Electricity & gas supply (+3.3%) also supported growth.
  • Construction output increased by 0.3% in June, following a 0.5% fall in May, with all growth coming from repair and maintenance (+1.2%); new work fell slightly (–0.4%).
  • Year-on-year GDP in June 2025 was 1.4% higher than in June 2024.
