Monthly GDP December 2025

  • Real gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to have grown by 0.1% in the three months to December 2025, compared with the three months to September 2025. This follows falls of 0.1% in the three months to November and October 2025.
  • On a monthly basis, GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.1% in December 2025, following growth of 0.2% in November 2025. Compared with December 2024, GDP is estimated to be 0.7% higher.
  • Services output showed no growth in the three months to December 2025, following no growth in the three months to November and October 2025.
  • On the month, services output is estimated to have grown by 0.3% in December 2025. Growth in the month was driven by increases in transportation and storage and in administrative and support service activities. 
  • Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles also increased on the month, contributing positively to services output, reflecting growth in wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles. 
  • These increases were partially offset by falls in information and communication, and in arts, entertainment and recreation.
  • Production output is estimated to have grown by 1.2% in the three months to December 2025, following falls in the previous seven three-month periods. 
  • On the month, production output is estimated to have fallen by 0.9% in December 2025, with decreases recorded across all production subsectors, including manufacturing and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.
  • Construction output is estimated to have fallen by 2.1% in the three months to December 2025, compared with the three months to September 2025. 
  • Both repair and maintenance and new work contributed to the fall over the three-month period. On the month, construction output is estimated to have decreased by 0.5% in December 2025, with the fall driven by repair and maintenance, while new work increased.

Real GDP grew by 0.1% in the three months to December 2025, after falling by 0.1% in the three months to November 2025 and by 0.1% in the three months to October 2025
