GfK Consumer Confidence September 2025

• The GfK Consumer Confidence Index decreased by two points to -19 in September. 
• All measures were down compared to last month.

General economic situation

• Consumer perceptions of the general economic situation over the past 12 months moved down three points to -45, 8 points worse than in September 2024.
• Expectations for the general economic situation over the next 12 months declined by two points to -32, down 5 points on this time last year.

Personal finances

• The personal finances index for the past 12 months is down three points at -7, two points better than in September 2024.
• Expectations for personal finances over the next 12 months is down one point at 4, seven points better than the same month last year.

Major purchases

• The Major Purchase Index decreased by three points to -16, seven points better than September 2024.

Savings Index (not included in the overall measure)

• The Savings Index dropped eight points to 22, down one point from this time last year.
