GfK Consumer Confidence October 2025

• The GfK Consumer Confidence Index increased by two points to -17 in October. 
• Four measures were up and one was down in October compared to last month.

General economic situation

• Consumer perceptions of the general economic situation over the past 12 months moved up three points to -42, same as October 2024.
• Expectations for the general economic situation over the next 12 months improved two points to -30, down 2 points on this time last year.

Personal finances

• The personal finances index for the past 12 months is up two points at -5, five points better than in October 2024.
• Expectations for personal finances over the next 12 months is down one point at +3, five points better than the same month last year.

Major purchases

• The Major Purchase Index increased by four points to -12, a nine points improvement on October 2024.

Savings Index (not included in the overall measure)

• The Savings Index jumped seven points to +29, up two points from this time last year.
