GfK Consumer Confidence March 2026

• The GfK Consumer Confidence Index fell two points to -21 in March.
• Three measures decreased, one increased and one was unchanged compared with last month.

General economic situation

• Consumer perceptions of the general economic situation over the past 12 months increased one point to -43.
• Expectations for the general economic situation over the next 12 months fell six points to -37, eight points worse than last year.

Personal finances

• The personal finances index for the past 12 months was unchanged at -7, two points higher than March 2025.
• Expectations for personal finances over the next 12 months decreased one point to +1, in line with the same month last year.

Major purchases

• The Major Purchase Index fell four points to -18, one point lower than last year.

Savings Index (not included in the overall measure)

• The Savings Index increased six points to +27, two points higher than last year.
