GfK Consumer Confidence July 2026

• The GfK Consumer Confidence Index increased six points to -17 in July.
• All five measures improved compared with last month.

General economic situation

• Consumer perceptions of the general economic situation over the past 12 months increased 10 points to -39, five points higher than a year ago.
• Expectations for the general economic situation over the next 12 months increased eight points to -28, one point higher than July last year.

Personal finances

• The personal finances index for the past 12 months increased two points to -8, one point lower than July 2025.
• Expectations for personal finances over the next 12 months increased three points to +1, one point lower than this time last year.

Major purchases

• The Major Purchase Index increased eight points to -12, three points higher than July last year.

Savings Index (not included in the overall measure)

• The Savings Index increased seven points to +27, seven points lower than the same time last year.
