GfK Consumer Confidence July 2025

• The GfK Consumer Confidence Index fell by one point to -19 in July.
• Two measures were down, one was up, and two remained unchanged compared to June.

General economic situation

• Consumer perceptions of the general economic situation over the past 12 months slipped by one point to -44, 12 points worse than in July 2024.
• Expectations for the general economic situation over the next 12 months also declined by one point to -29, down 18 points on this time last year.

Personal finances

• The personal finances index for the past 12 months remained unchanged at -7, one point better than in July 2024. 
• Expectations for personal finances over the next 12 months were also unchanged at +2, one point lower than the same month last year.

Major purchases

• The Major Purchase Index increased by one point to -15, one point higher than July 2024.

Savings Index (not included in the overall measure)

• The Savings Index jumped seven points to +34, up seven points from this time last year.
