GfK Consumer Confidence December 2025

• The GfK Consumer Confidence Index rose by two points to –17 in December.
• All five measures increased compared with last month

General economic situation

• Consumer perceptions of the general economic situation over the past 12 months rose three points to –40, one point worse than December 2024.
• Expectations for the general economic situation over the next 12 months increased three points to –29, three points worse than this time last year.

Personal finances

• The personal finances index for the past 12 months rose one point to –6, one point higher than December 2024.
• Expectations for personal finances over the next 12 months increased one point to 2, one point higher than the same month last year.

Major purchases

• The Major Purchase Index rose four points to –11, five points higher than this time last year.

Savings Index (not included in the overall measure)

• The Savings Index was unchanged at 24, three points higher than this time last year.
