Sainsbury's is predominately a food & grocery retailer but it is expanding its range of non-food items including clothing & footwear and homewares.

Over the last year, Sainsbury’s has focused on improving the quality of own brands and invested in price to ensure competitiveness across the sector.

Convenience store openings have been a key driver of store expansion and for the first time this year, Sainsbury’s Local had more outlets than the larger superstore format.
The company has also invested to improve their online offer and has used clickand-collect to drive sales.

Joint venture with Netto will see 15 new stores open by end of 2015.
